Looking for Donkey Dong Fuel Spout

Unread post by Pen1311 » November 4th, 2013, 6:44 pm

Hello everyone. I have had a WWII 5 gallon jerry can spout for about 15 years. I was lucky I found this one. Now I would like to retire this one, and get another one. The original style had a clamping lever on it, and very seldom did it leak. The style available all over the place is either plastic or a "screw in" threaded piece.

I am searching for either a NOS Unit, a good/decent used unit, or at a minimum, a seal for the unit. Any assistance you can give would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, these are exactly what I am looking for. I stand corrected about these being WWII items.

I must admitt that Donkey Dong does provide an accurate description of the spout...

Not that I've been checking out Donkey Dongs or anything....

"Donkey Dong" is a nice way of saying "Donkey baseball bat and balls". LOL I have been searching all over and I can get a new seal for the spout, but no spouts. There has to be some out there somewhere.

Hambone should be able to make one available - if not, let me know - as I have one out in the garage somewhere...

Where are you located??

I seem to recall that the new ones don't fit the old jerry cans. I have some but never got around to trying them and now they buried in the parts bin.

I don't know how she did it, or where she found it, but my bride of 43 years presented me with a BRAND NEW, still in a plastic bag NOS fuel spout, 1 each for our anniversary. It is real pretty, I kind of hate to take it out of the plastic.

Thanks to all who tried to help me on this topic. I hope you all had a Merry Christmas and I hope the New Year is a Happy one for you and yours.

Hi,

Sorry to bump this old thread, but I came across this discussion and it seems relevant. I just purchased two used old "donkey dongs". One is in fine shape and works, but the second has dry rotted the rubber compression fitting and will not seal.

Question: dos anyone know where to find the replacement rubber, or has anyone come up with a good DIY alternative?

Thanks in advance!

Fish
