My code enforcement guy would just LOVE you. Not exactly sure how they would handle the forklift but I am sure they would find some way to fine you for it. Commercial use in a residential area comes to mind.

Well, you may recall I told you my personal Code Enforcement story. Which makes kinda me curious. Have you actually read the language of the code that they say they are enforcing? Mine literally came down to punctuation.
My freshly-minted Code Enforcement nemesis was reading the multiple sections of the code as AND, rather than OR. In doing so, she came to me insisting I had to meet 42,050 benchmarks in order to be in compliance. Okay, well maybe not that many. She came to me insisting that all my vehicles had to be running, inspected -and- registered whereas the local code, when read properly, only required at one of the three benchmark requirements.
What made it more interesting was trying to explain to her that former military vehicles are EXEMPT from inspection in the state of Texas! She was giving me that same look your dog gives you when you play the harmonica.
ANYhoo...most local laws are simply copies of state law when it comes to these minor matters of civil accordance...word for word. And many state laws are copied from other state's laws (chiefly because legislators find it far easier to copy than to sit down and do their own work). So, do yourself a big, fat favor. Look up the ordinance and see exactly what it says and for God's sake pay attention to the punctuation because it matters!
All of this is entirely your business, of course. However, with a little diligence, you might just discover that your code enforcement officer is being just a little overzealous.

NO, We danced this dance before and I sued the township and won. They were not allowed to photograph my property through the woods and especially not allowed to trespass and take pictures. Both of which they did. The trespassing was the best part, the cowardly police chief and the corrupt code official in my yard while I was at work. SWORE they were not there. They never considered my neighbors watch out for me and took pictures of them all over my back yard. When the judge calls a recess and asks the chief and code official to join him in his chambers you know something ids up. Case dismissed. In addition I was told that I was in complete compliance and as long as I stayed that way I would not be bothered by the township again. Welllllll. New officers and officials and a dire need of money since the funds were grossly mismanaged and here we go again. But this time there were no people in the meeting due to pandemic so there was NO opposition and they blew a NEW ordinance right through. This one was very well researched by them and it covered all of the bases. I am not allowed to have any "Junk" vehicles anywhere on my property. And they are now allowed to take pictures through the woods. The ones he took I even asked what they were of and he could not identify the issue since it was so obscured. But the phrasing is amazing. I will find it and post it, It is a long read.

Here is the violation I received, with pertinent info redacted of coarse. Do you think they got clear pics of anything but the front side of my CUCV in the back and my covered M37 up front? And note the time frame for fixing it! Keep in mind that it has rained here since Thanksgiving and my yard is a swamp. It never stopped raining all through December until it snowed, then it thawed and started raining again. They told me my extension had run out and I was going to have to go to court. I said no problem, bring me into court and I will ask how I am supposed to improve my property by digging 2 foot deep ruts all over it? I haven't been called yet.

Well, I can't make head nor tails of those photos but I will say the ordinance is not fully stated on the notice.....just a little snippet here and there. So all bets are off until you read what it says. Cherry-picking a line or two out of an ordinance does not reveal its true intent.

Well, the big safe is gone, over and done with. Not entirely the waste of time some of you probably thought it was. It yielded some fairly decent steel panels. I have a plan already in the works for that metal...and wait till you see what THAT project is! (NO, we are not up-armoring the forklift).
Also received a small bonus in the form of four, salvaged heavy duty cast iron wheels & their mounts.
This business taught me a lot about how these safes are constructed which is information I hope I never have to use again. (A word of advice...NEVER attempt to bust into a safe from the front. That's where all the heavy metal is.)
The big job was made far easier by Goblin. Goblin did yeoman service and a few burnouts (yes, you read that correctly....BURNOUTS) in my driveway. Not bad for an old girl. With Goblin on the job, that old safe didn't know which way was up...literally.
And now, a few pics for your enjoyment.
The gray, plastic box has two powerful, general-purpose magnets that allow me to put the box just about wherever I want to put it. It contains incidentals for the work such as gloves, eye pro, and things that I remember I need only after I've climbed up and gotten seated. Stuff like that. Easy to have it right there than to have to climb back off and hunt it down.
...and here are a few pics of one of the old Army forklifts which was a recent parts donor for mine. These are so obscure...they're just not something one sees everyday, so take a gander.
Take note that this 4000#-lift, gasoline model has a counterweight that is just about 3"-4" thicker than mine at the tail end. That's where they pick up the extra counterbalance weight. Essentially, it just bulges out more at the rear.

Okay....since some of you asked....here is the situation.
The composite lights we have been discussing come in every style (fronts and rears) and in every condition - some are fairly good looking, some are questionable, some are clearly only suitable as parts donors.
Where the guts are concerned - some are old school with standard bulbs, some with LED blackout bulbs only (with the standard bulb bases), some almost entirely LED (as you will see below) and yes, I even saw ONE of the newer styles (Grote) which is entirely LED and far less robust a design than the old ACCO models we are used to seeing and not something I would want on MY machine no matter how good it was (it just looks too civilian).
Some ham-fisted jerks cut the wires on a few units during their removal; some above, and some below the connectors, if you can believe that.
Boneheads with wire cutters. Sheesh! Just shaking my head.. and none have the fasteners which I can only assume were reused to install their replacements
Naturally, when I paw through the bins, I am looking for the best of the best but, be assured, you will have probably to spend a little time with each unit to get it looking worthy of your rig.
So, if you are willing to roll up your sleeves and put in some effort in on these, I think you will find them a bargain. If you are looking for absolutely turn-key units, you should probably look elsewhere.
Insofar as the matter of testing goes, I will try to figure something out because nobody wants to spend their money on junk.
Insofar as meeting your requests, I will attempt to honor them in the order received.

I love going there but having the time to do it can be a problem.
Yesterday, I was in a hurry and this is what I came up with..untested, of course.

So, IMHO, these two I picked up are mighty clean units on the inside and I inspect the interior of everything I'm considering laying my money down for.
My experience thusfar has been that most of the older all-bulb units have at least some corrosion on the inside of the bucket (these didn't..lucky me!) ranging from only needing a dusting out to maybe some work with a Dremel tool and a tiny brush. The older all-bulb units outnumber the LED units BY FAR.
Where the old-style guts are concerned, they range from A-OK to totally ruined. Thus, if you only need, say, a composite light door, then maybe a kit that is trashed on the inside can provide you with what you need and yes, it will STILL be $5.00 (Another reason to be specific with your requests.)

A long time ago we had a thread going about who had the better 20 ton press and I was supposed to put pictures of mine on here and never did. Well, I am finally attempting to rearrange the garage and put 20 lbs. of crap in a 5 lb. space neatly. I am putting this here specifically because the guy that owns this page is an expert at this subject!!! 
So here is the press and a couple of my starting attempts at organization.
The press after finally moving the motorcycle lift over from in front of it. I have an air over hydraulic 20 ton jack I will be putting on there to replace the hand pumper.
Now to sneak in the welder And now to squeeze in the panel stretcher/shrinker That welder cart is going away and I am going to build a new one that will hold that MIG welder, this TIG welder and a plasma cutter I am getting in the very near future. Next to the TIG and under the fan is the big ultrasonic cleaner I use when I am rebuilding carbs.
Next on the list is gut those shelves next to the stuff I just moved and clean that all up and move all the supplies from up from by the bench to over there.
