Re: Barn Find
I'm going to get it running first, then go from there, needs a new rocker panel, hood hinges and has a good dent in the right front fender. Best part is there are tons of aftermarket panels at reasonable prices, right front fender $139, rocker panel $39, set of hood hinges with springs $80. Then you have all new door and window seals, new seat cover, new wood kit for the bed, new brakes, new belts and hoses, new tires and the list goes on and on. Another good thing is I have a painter buddy that likes beer, so it would have to be painted by noon. I'm just going to do a little here and there, can't stray too far away from the ambulance at this point.

Re: Barn Find
You see where they are going back into production with the trail series? I think you are trying to corner the market on the antique ones. You need to go after the QA 50's.

Figures. How much are they and do they still have the dual range transmission? No knobby tires?

Re: Barn Find
I ordered 2 in Nov., my wife wanted one also, they are $4100 before sales tax, the Japan model is available in a sand color also, but not in the U.S., they are selling like hotcakes, over a 100 MPG, 60 MPH, electric start and ABS brake on front. No dual range tranny tho, has a little lower 1st and 2nd gear, tires are trail rated but not mud rated, fuel injected and snorkeled out for a 30" water crossing, rear rack is rated for 40 lbs., can't wait to take them to the Ozarks.
Re: Barn Find
Sounds like a wannabe of the original! That is a lot of money for a wannabe! Handy little bike though but I would want knobbies for the trail. I had those "trail rated" tires on a rental BMW I had on a long trip many years ago and they were absolutely worthless on wet grass and mud. Especially clay mud. Granted I was on road more than off so they made sense on that bike but I am pretty sure you will be the opposite.

Re: Barn Find
Been searching for several years, finally found this 69 Z50 monkey bike for the right price, sorry it's not a QA50 Rick.
