Sad to hear this. I knew it was coming, he had told me about his cancer return and that it was terminal. He asked me not to tell everyone on the forum so I honored his wishes. I did let a couple of people who I knew were close to Tom know but other than that I kept quiet. That was a very hard thing to do since Tom was a fixture on this site from the beginning. As a Seabee he took as much abuse from me, and others on here as he did in real life in he service but never let it bother him. He was quite adept at returning the insults in kind. This was all in jest. He told me that he could tell who actually meant what they said and he just cut ties with that person but they were very few and far between. Tom had a heart of gold and he even called a local real estate agent without my knowing it to let him know I might need to sell my house if I decided to move and I needed to get good money for it. For those that don't know Tom was a realtor dealing in high end real estate. He will be greatly missed here and by all who knew him I am sure.

Tom was a heck of a guy. I probably razzed him more than just about anybody. He lived down in Cape Girardeau Mo., a Mississippi River town in Southern Mo. My wife has family down there, and I used to call him and look him up when in town and have drinks with him and his wife. Even ran into him at the Catholic Church down by the riverfront at Mass a couple of times. He has a daughter in the St. Louis area and he came and joined my wife and I once when I drove my M151 in the St. Charles Mo. Oktoberfest.

RIP Tom Meyer
