If only.... heh i took my current project jeep up to garner state park from the 21st - 24th... I was going to take the goldwing but am still waiting on the title.

started to overheat once, smelled an electrical fire once (but could not find anything burning, so it may have been the rv in front of me).. *shrugs*

before I left s.a. I ripped out the fog lights and replaced them with led pods, then wired in a relay harness to the bull bar lights, so now my "fog lights" are an array of 56 leds, 24 with reflectors, 32 with lenses. may hook them up to the high beam switch later.

wired in rear power ports for my coolers, drilled the exhaust and added an o2 bung, cel cheater, and o2 sensor to get rid of the check engine light (runs much better now). I think my overheating problem is now down to improper gearing in my diffs. currently at 3.73 with 33" tires, should probably rip them apart and move up to 4.11 or 4.55.. even if my fan clutch works, nowhere near the proper rpm at speed... other option is to add an electric pusher fan, but not sure i have room between the grill and radiator.

At the moment I still have a 2 page list of stuff to do to this jeep, so... work in progress.

What year Goldwing do you have? I have a 98SE that I need to rebuild the carbs on. I have had them off and cleaned them twice but still not running right. Rich on the left side. Taking all that damn plastic off is a pain and it is even worse on mine since it must have gotten real hot and the lower fairings are all deformed. If you know of a set of lower fairings in the two tone gold and tan I am looking. Actually I am looking for a decent set of any color as long as they are for an SE with the driving lights.

mine is a 92SE, also have a gl1100 but don't remember the year, it was going to be a single carb project, but am passing it on to someone else to play with (too many projects). as for the lower fairing, right now i am heating up and reforming my right side luggage as the p.o. dropped the bike or got rear ended, can't tell which, but either way... it hit the ground on the right side... work is on hold for that one until i get some semblance of a title, if it never comes through, will hunt down another one and use this one for parts.

best advice, ebay... lower front cowl / fairing... i'm going to end up rebuilding mine, but i have tons of abs sheet and abs cement. one the gl1100 i ended up picking up most of the body panels for it as they were missing... also, there was a guy in waco, tx that salvaged goldwings, no clue if he is still around, but i will see if i still have his number somewhere.

It's been a while... this will be the final update for this project.

Project is currently available to anyone that can trailer it by this weekend. Loading assistance is available (or will be when my brother replaces the brushes on the forklift).

I really wanted to fix it up, but have too many projects and doubt i would ever be able to get it titled and on the streets. I then thought maybe i would take it and drop it off on my land out west, but with the influx of people there has been an influx of thieves, so... putting it out there would more than likely end up with it disappearing and being sold as scrap. at this point in time, i really need the space on the driveway more than i need the project.

Lots of usable parts: engine is good (runs, was stored with fresh oil and filter), carb is around here somewhere, shocks aren't terrible, wheels are not original, tires are shot, etc etc.

I think it would be helpful to know where it is and what you'd want for it.

I remember seeing this on Steel Soldiers.

It is a MUTT powered dune buggy with MUTT suspension parts too...

If I had someplace to run it I would take it, well there is that little issue of it being in Texas and he needs it gone NOW and I am in NJ. Yea, that wouldn't work anyway.

It was a group effort, but it is loaded and headed out with TJ. I aired up the tires, took it off the stands, and rolled it out before they showed up, so made things go pretty smooth.

It's a beast, and quite frankly I would have loved to have done more work on it and taken it out to terlingua, but... My brother wants to start buying/fixing/selling heavy equipment as a side gig, and I really need the space freed up. Currently I bought 2 forklifts, and we are almost finished with them, but I had a hydraulic/electric pallet jack locked in by the rail, and it is probably going to be cut apart and used as the prime mover for my shop crane / old heavy as hell engine lift.

My current mobile project is a joke, but at least I am having fun with it. Repurposing a toro groundsmaster diesel into a mini crane truck.

I want to say THANK YOU publicly to terratek. Got this puppy home without any dramas. Oh boy, my wife is gonna be all over me for this one. In my defense, I was left, unsupervised!!

If you want to see more, I'll be moving this over to The Beverly Hillbillies thread.

Thanks again, terratek!

Cheers,
TJ
