Ken & All.... In honor of the 4th of July, we entered our Fort Miles HMV's into the Independence Day Parade in Bethany Beach, DE. The weather was hot and we got lots of "thumbs up" and "salutes" along the parade route. We had two Mutts to represent the era and had fun.....

Beach traffic in town was heavy but traveling in a convoy both to and then from the parade through numerous traffic lights, we were surprised to be given the right-of-way by drivers along our route, no matter the color of the light. When local police on traffic detail (motorcycle) saw us approaching, they shut down a main intersection on Route 1 so that we could pass. WOW!!! That's a new one on us but we accepted it with big smiles. It made for a great day!!!

That's very cool. And something else that's very cool.... Often forgotten is that the Battle of Gettysburg reached its zenith on the 4th of July. What is also little remembered is the matter of Lee's retreat from Gettysburg (and subsequent pursuit by Federal troops). There is some very good stuff to be found on that topic on youtube. Enjoy!

By the way, imagine how much difference just one of two of those M2HBs would have made at Gettysburg!

Cheers,
TJ
