New member of MUTT fellowship

Unread post by Andrew » June 24th, 2020, 8:35 am

Hi everybody, I´m a new person here .
Couple of words about myself. Living in the Czech Republic (small country besides to Germany and Poland). Age 54, realocated from the city to the country. As a countryman I need a real country vehicle - and MUTT seems to be the best choice - is that right??
About my MUTT, I will post photos later on. It is A2, comming from Greece a couple of months ago. Just before C19 epidemy. As a each begginer I´m interested in history of my car.
[album][/album]
Rick, or anybody else could you pls HELP me? I need to create car plate and put there some logic a and correct data.
What I already find out?

Engine plate:
--------------------
serial no. 4714578
ord. part no. 8754411
contract no. DA-20-113-AMC

chassis plate ??? located on transmission tunnel, right driverś foot.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
11639700 - is this chassis part no.??
C151-04161

What I would like to know:
1. who was producer? I suppose AM General Corp.
2. Year of production? The estimate is +/- 1977, but nobody knows.

I have a clean vehicle plate. What should I fill in lane:
contract no.?
mfr. serial no.?

Guys, sorry for such a lot of questions. Now I am in a hurry to make car official, to be able to use it.

ALLWAYS MUTT !

Andrew

New member - Posting pictures in the site

Unread post by Andrew » June 24th, 2020, 8:55 am

Hi again,

as I promised, some pictues are posting. The habit of this MUTT is a little bit unusual because of (car) collor and canvas roof.
It comes from Grecce, its totally complette. Windows with zipps, doors with door handle - I was so surprise!

Welcome Andrew, That is a very comprehensive introduction. The manufacturer of your 151 will be AMG but the year I can't help with. Ken the Muttguru from England is the expert on these things and you have given him the information he needs with the body numbers. He will most likely ask you for a picture of them so be prepared. If he does not find this in a day or so you can send him a PM.

I am a bit confused? The registration for this site does not need an email from me?

Welcome!
Nice looking 151. A few bits and pieces in the engine bay are not as they should but nothing really big. Personally I don't like the box in the back instead of the jerry can. Canvas top looks not stock or at least unusual.
Not sure about 1977, shouldn't it be then an emission controlled set-up? Guess therefore it is a little earlier. Anyway, Muttguru will clarify that.

On the top it looks like the rear bow is too far back, Maybe front and rear both are too far back? That would explain the top fit over the door also. But the tang at the bottom of the bow hooks on the post on the body so it cannot do that. Are the bows and the mounting points all stock and in good condition? Horst, you are too used to driving around at the top of the Alps and need the extra gas, most people never need it so the can is probably more practical. It looks different but doesn't look all that bad.

Looks to me that the top is only supported by the ROPs and the top looks home made as in after market. Just my humble opinion .

Good call Dan, looking through the windows I don't see any bows. It is a good looking vehicle though.

Hello everybody,

you are right, bows were missing, I bought it later on. Trouble is that canvas sides (not original piece) are too short for orig. bows. And doors
can not be instaled.

ROPS seems to be original piece, I have still question remove it or not. It was dismantled ( checked, cleaned and painted) last week. And
that was ANOTHER Mutt without ROPS !!. Pretty, nice, flat.

Rear wiew - yes of course jerry can should there, point for future.

Rick, may I sent request to Ken the Mutt guru, regarding Year of production of my MUTT ?? You mentioned PM, Is it Private Mail? How Can I find his mail?

ALLWAYS MUTT !!

At the end, posting one FUNNY photo. How to make mechanical sheep or quite BIG BEER.

Hey! I want a top like that!!!!
Here is Kens information, in there you will see his e-mail and PM links. PM is Private Message. He will ask for a picture of the vehicle and also one of the tag on the transmission tunnel so you might as well include them. Or have them ready, I don't think I have it set up to be able to add pictures direct from the computer on PM's. You could do it using Postimage.

Welcome Andrew, nice rig! I'm kinda liking the Ammo box/Trunk on the back. Also gotta love the zip off padding on the ROPS, someone put a lot of time into that. Wooly top is great!
