Jeep wheel bearing pack and seals
Just finished wheel bearing pack with seals and wear sleeves install. Did not have old wear sleeves to remove. All spindles and yokes were pitted and discolored from seal wear. Bearings were packed apparently at some time. But that was all.
Yes did use the flavor injector to pack spindle bearings.
Yes...always tape those u-joints
All bearing and races ( cups and cones ) were good. No replacements needed. The seals another story. Old and hard. Been there to long. I always have replaced seals with any bearing pack. Bubba did have input at one time. The flat washer was missing between wheel spindle bearing and nut, left rear. Found suitable replacement at FASTENAL. M18 washer. Had to buy package of ten. Just over $5. The high pitch squeal left rear is now gone. Went ahead and did PMCS also. Got the Ft Hood event coming up. Can also drive more often in winter here in central TEXAS. Took for a “maint shakedown” drive. Was a very nice morning by TEXAS standards. Light breeze from north. 58 degrees about 0930hr.You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

I’m approaching the 6.000 miles mark and need to do the same. Full lube job. Not really looking forward to it, too much other stuff on the list
