if i see the amount of type coils they make it must be a big company

But without testing the resistance values we have no way of knowing if it is the same as the old Chinese coils with a new look or the same as the original GI coils. Supposedly Pete debella has someone here in the US that is making new coils for the M series but I have seen anything.

They are not made in the USA.

We tried for years before this to source a manufacturer in the US to make these 24 Volt Coils, but no one would touch it. So they are not made in the USA.

The good news - we have several samples being tested in warm climate vehicles for over 6 months now with no problems. Things are looking up.

This is probably the same as the ones from China that George showed us in another post. They are different than the chrome ones. I will reserve judgement until I can get resistance readings off of one and if it compares to an original then, and only then, will I have any faith at all in it. The standard Chinese coils have a much higher resistance reading than the originals and they last days to months as far as lifespan. Some blow up (literally in one case!) right out of the box.

Well, I went out on a limb and called Pete DeBella yesterday, and pre-ordered one of the new manufacture 24 volt coils from him. Considering his reputation in the 503 world in supplying parts, and knowing the frustration a lot of us feel regarding the continued coil availability/reliability concerns, I thought someone should take the dive and see for ourselves how this new piece plays out.

Hey, I have no doubt that when Guy Loomis started floating his ideas about replacement M151 body panels, there were some nay-sayers out there, swearing that no good would come of that venture.....

Just read it, will do an ohms test. Might be a while, as Pete said they should be in stock very soon, and I placed a pre-order. Heck, my truck is still at my cousin's place, 95% body work/primer done, but he JUST HAD TO drive across country with the family..... I'll update with photos of the coil and the truck when I get them both back in my garage.

I still want to see the ohms readings on one of them and see how it compares to either the originals or the Chinese ones. That will be the key factor.

Interesting. I thought they'd be a lot more $$$$. As was stated, these obviously are made overseas at that price. Well, hopefully for the MV community, they hold up. Time will tell.
