Don't know about the US but 151s have been brought to Australia from Vietnam and Pakistan. Be prepared to go through the hoops, though, depending on the bureaucracy involved in vehicle imports...

Welcome jhm0112.

There are plenty of 151s to have for your very own...right here in the U.S. and parts are not yet impossible to find PLUS (as an added bonus) an unheard of amount of support for them, which you can receive right here on the g838.

Cheers,
TJ

It can be done. Contact Csmith on here, he has brought back one or two of them from Vietnam. But like TJ said, there are plenty to be had in this country and no hassles getting them. There are all kinds of restrictions to bringing military equipment back into the country from abroad that you would have to skirt. Bringing military equipment from another country in is not a problem but bringing US military equipment BACK in is a major problem.

Also, if you get one from Vietnam you will probably find it is full of bog, has odd mechanical alterations (e.g. uses a toyota distributor, converted to 12V), things like radios are empty shells and 1729 antenna bases are fake lumps of fibre, so you need the vehicle checked thoroughly.

Bought my first from VN, had business there and one night while riding around Saigon saw one, had to have one, knew nothing about the jeep, got it home and educated myself, much better stock here. Sold it and bought 2 here. Vietnamese are incredible at rebuilding mutts, but they are jeep salad, mixed parts, bondo

We put it in a container of products coming over. Maybe some other countries but VN rebuilding mutts leftover from the war, I have seen them pulled out of the jungle looking like Swiss cheese.

I recently saw a vide on U tube about a German concern (I think it was German, titles were German). They showed piles of M151s from Saudis. Also stated they offer complete renovated units in either gas or diesel. Price was 27,000 euros ( $30,000 ?)

You can buy restored 151's here for half of that! No diesels but they never came with a diesel. If it has a diesel it probably also does not have the original driveline either. All depends on what you are looking for I guess.

The German company is called Morlock Motors. The 151 are from Saudi Arabia and in pretty rough shape. They are restored in Poland. The price he charges is probably ok for the work involved but as said, you can buy better 151s for less of a price. Morlock has plenty of customers. The owner was pretty smart with getting his company on TV and as such has a lot of customers not knowing better.
