Not mine, but this is one highly modified mutt (if you can still even call it one). Fender flares, running boards, plenty of non-oem mods, carb, ignition and distributor, fuel pump and looks like power steering?

Truly understand the creativity folks overseas need to accomplish to keep equipment running, but this one is truly over the top!

Pretty clean overall. I am surprised to see a Paki mutt that still has an original engine in it. They have mostly gone to Toyota engines. It still has all the hardware for the 106 recoilless in it.

Pretty hardcore. Almost hurts to watch it. But need to accept that it is a different culture with other values.

I almost spit out my coffee.

Is that a pump for bailing water on the RR fender?!

TJ probably doesn't remember but I know Horst does. We used to have several Pakistani members and they had some interesting vehicles. Sherwan had a completely stock 151 but he had a rough time trying to keep it that way due to lack of parts availability. Once the war moved to the sandbox most of those guys drifted off. I still hear from Sherwan once in a while but the rest are gone. Most of the 151's they had there were converted to Toyota engines and two wheel drive. And definitely accessorized.

My eyes were hurting too bad to continue past about a minute and a half. Yes, there are some expensive RR bits there. He could probably sell those to some needy restorer in the US and have the money to add a cappuchino maker to the transmission hump.

Hey, doesn't matter one's race, creed, or color - gearheads are gearheads. But this rig is something else entirely.

...and I didn't see one bottle cap opener on the whole rig.

BLING, BLING!! The bilge pump is a nice touch... I have seen a lot of bling in Vietnam but nothing like that.

Hard to fathom the context of that MUTT. Maybe someone's idea of a post-apocalyptic runabout? Or maybe, just a mobile Poor Taste Violation. If nothing else, it IS very tidy. Before we get too critical (or is it already too late for that?) I would like to remind everyone that poor decisions are not limited to any single race, creed, or color and sometimes, the people who are making those poor decisions are doing a VERY good job....

...if only to serve themselves up as a warning to others.

You all may remember my ancient post about how to lower the resale value of your truck in one easy step; the guy who had screwed some home-brewed pioneer kit to the outside of his civvy truck's fender.. ..and didn't even hang it straight.

That was right here in Texas. I still have that photo...somewhere.

Y'all have a great day!

Cheers,
TJ

You KNOOOOW, I see a lot of criticisms here about this persons vehicle but what most people are not considering is the different cultures involved here. That guy appears in that video to either be looking it over to purchase it or it may not even be his. I say that by the way he is handling some of the trinkets inside. Also, these are proud people and they work with very little in the way of modern tools and equipment. I remember when there were several Pakistan members here and they had a lot of videos and picture up and most of the vehicles had a fair amount of bling on them. This country is no different at all, the bling is just a hell of a lot more expensive is all. I would be pretty sure that over there, especially in today's times, a vehicle is a status symbol so that make it theirs, like no other. If you want to see outrageous then look at Indian or Japanese truckers and their rigs!

I can tell you from my time in VietNam with the Jeep Club, everyone I have met that owns a 151 is a good person. These are prestige vehicles in these countries and they like to trick them out. They do it with their cars, buses, trucks, etc. As others have said, different cultures all to be respected. They laugh at those in the West that don't want to take their Mutts out in the rain or off the pavement...... It's all good!
