I met Seabee a couple of years ago at the St. Charles Mo Octoberfest. He told me he had to clean buffalo sh!t out of his musket during basic training.

Hi, I'm 25
Similar to your situation my hobby started with myself and my dad. It's how we bond and work well together. Also like yourself, we have a M35A2 and M151A2 and a M105A2 trailer. We started the military collection with a 1945 gpw and transitioned over to our current setup. As a service member myself and in the maintenance field (ordnance branch) I love these machines and love working on them. These are my passion.
Like some of the previous comments I would stock up on parts. Like filters and manuals. Manuals will never let you down and are the best reference, after all that's what the military goes by ;-)
I don't have near the experience that the fellow member on this forum have but if I can help just let me know!

Good to see Seabee is still able to take a joke. We pick on ya, but we all will still miss you when you're gone.
58 and 40 years since my first M151 drive on active duty. All you guy's that call your jeeps MUTTS are only wannabees. You should have more respect for the vehicle and make me cringe every time I read the word. M151's, jeeps and 1/4 tons is what they were called by the soldiers that drove them.

Rainman, I know that is true back in out time but I am not so sure as the years progressed and the 151 was still in service. Remember, a lot of the people that own these vehicle now were not in the service back then and a lot of them were never in the service so the term "wannabe" is a little strong. I know what you mean but some may not understand.

And Seabee, If we didn't love you we would just ignore you. You just don't get on here much anymore so the few times you do we have to get our shots in while we can.

{QOUTE}: All you guy's that call your jeeps MUTTS are only wannabees.

Well how about that, not only did you guy's give many of us the advice to go buy one or more of these things, you got to strike us down too !!!
I can can take a good joke as much as the next guy, I even don't mind when rick get's aggravated with me, cause I know I'm wrong when he does that, but "wannabees".... that sounds really cruel.... "so it really don't bother me if I call my p.o.s. a MUTT" In fact I may not have ever called it that, but the Vietnam Vet's right here in my neighborhood have always referred to it as a MUTT, and that's where I got the term MUTT from, so seem's like not everyone of you vet's older or younger share the same feelings about it, so "put that in your smoke and pipe it"....

I'll be 48 this year. Had been collecting US Army militaria (1945-1995) since REFORGER '76.
Never had the space, time nor skills to own and maintain an MV until 2012 when I had the opportunity of moving my collection into the Belgian Royal Military Museum's Bastogne Barracks.
Ever since, I got into M151's!
By the way, jeeps are a perfect way to get the wife aboard this fascinating hobby and passion...
When you go to war, you go to war all the way. You don't go to war piecemeal.
You go, and you go to win.

Gee Rick, I was going to use an other word than "wannabee", but the message board censor wouldn't let me use it. Same thing happened to me when I was commenting on Seabee's Normandy trip now that I think about it. If you use the word in every post, there's a good chance I already ignore your posts.
"This post was made by HILLBILLY-06 who is currently on your ignore list"
Love the comment Hambone, I wannbee rich, but it's just never happened.
