Re: M151 A1 69 .... a new sunrise
Having an AR51 would be a whole lot of fun...especially here in the states. Let's say you just met some friends at your favorite cafe and you can't wait to share the news about your new acquisition. You might want to mention that it was produced strictly for military use. You would certainly want to mention that it is 'tactical'. You absolutely would want to share that it came four, high-capacity 'mags'. Maybe add something like - "If they want to take it from me they'll have to pry it from my cold, dead hands."
Take a long pause, look around the room and see which patrons are glaring at you and which ones are waiting to hear more about this mysterious AR51.

I would rather just walk in and ask if anyone wants to see my new antique Alfa Romeo. Then watch all the guys pile out and stare all around the lot looking for this sports car.

Re: M151 A1 69 .... a new sunrise
Isn't it a coincidence that the Alfa has 51 in it along with the M151?

Re: M151 A1 69 .... a new sunrise
It is a funny coincidence but AR51 simply means A=auto (automobile) R = ricognizione (patrol) 51= 1951 the year of army tender notice.
Yeah it is the only Alfa offroad vehicle (except the actual Stelvio but it is another target lol) but it has a sport engine inside : 1.9 l 4 cylinder aluminium with double cam shaft , chain distribution and dry carter with double oil pump to allow perfect lubrication even with 45° tilt, it is the same engine of 50' Alfa Romeo 1900.
The engine sound is fantastic to be honest , you can feel it is from a sport car but it is really really expensive (for example you can find a U joint for about 200 euro, if you are able to find it..) , there are no spare parts and you need tons of special tools to work on it but ... you know .... love is pain !
