Good afternoon mates! I have been thinking of uploading the restoration to the forum for a long time, it is the fastest and best place on the Internet that I have found help, and I think that alone it deserves to upload the content.

Currently it is almost finished, I should have registered before in this forum and upload everything from the beginning, surely I would have received good advice ...

Well, I'll tell you a bit, it is an A2 manufactured by AM General, I bought it about 5 years ago and little by little I have been working on it, on weekends and sometimes on holidays.
When I bought it it was in very bad condition, I already knew it was going to give me a lot of headaches but ... I bought it because I wanted to get into a "scrub" like this, also since I started working on sheet metal and paint. it had attracted attention to do such a thing.

We started!
First, I decided to repair all the most important sheet metal and then sandblast

I have tried throughout the restoration to eliminate all the rust that was within my reach, you already know that if rust is left and the rust is painted on it continues to eat, damaging and will soon appear.

The first thing was the passenger side, it was cracked in two places and also the bottom part was eaten by rust, so I decided to change it, it is the part of the car that was worse together with the crossbar in the middle.

What I did was, cut the side in the area that was best, I also cut what little there was of the lower reinforcement, then I took measurements and went to an iron workshop to get the sheet folded to size.
Now all these pieces are readily available but 4 or 5 years ago there weren't that many.

Then I continued with the crossbar that is under the passenger seat and with the reinforcement that is under the feet.

I continued with the side, I had to make the curvature that joins the dashboard with the side ...
Let's see how I explain it, I filled a tube with sand and covered the ends so that the sand stayed there, I heated it on a fire and with a tool that I made for this piece I bent it until I get the exact curve.

Then I cleaned cut and welded

I cut and welded the missing piece to leave the shape the same as the original.

It's up to the back ... it had a lot of rust, it was all rotten, I've seen this in more restorations, I think it's a little common.

My intention at the beginning was to clean the interior and cover a piece, but it couldn't be, it was all rusty inside too ... it was time to replace.

Here, testing the new pieces, I have welded them as they were or putting them inside their place.

First clean the entire interior with a belt sander, I applied primer, made the holes for the spot welds and then file the primer around the holes to later weld and finish

The next job was for the driver's side, it was also in very bad condition, cracked from the bad treatment the vehicle would have received, it also had remains of another previous repair, with welds that seemed not to be right and with broken putty ... Once again I decided to replace, again, take measurements of the placement, distances to all points and supports .... cut weld, measure, weld, file, measure, measure, measure. :lol: :lol: :lol:

excellent work. Too bad you could not enjoy Guys body panels at that time...

What is the origin of the 151? Assuming, as it had bondo, it was in private hands before. What army did it come from originally?

Horst! If you mean the CMD panels ... yes, it's a shame, specifically the ones that have just been published on this page would be very useful ...https://www.g838.org/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=7334&start=930
I have bought some panels, soon I will have it in the thread, I think they are the same on the page ... www.m51bodypanels.eu which is where I bought them.

Regarding the origin, I do not know what they mean by which it had "bondo" the translator does not translate it. He comes from the Portuguese army.
