Thanks and need more help..

These are pictures of my mutt, before when i first got it a year ago and now. I am not a body man, but do what i can. I have done a bunch of things that people advised here on this site so i thank you for your input. I did add the bluetooth speaker so i can play some tunes while driving and found a steering wheel wrap that makes it so much easier to turn the wheel.

What i need some help is with the NOS Top i put on... it looked like it was folded with powder, however i put the top on and even washed it with a brush and dawn soap but as you can see there is still some white residue on it that does not seem to wash off. any ideas on how to remove it?

I don't have a silver bullet for your problem but I do have some advice.

Be aware that there is some seam sealer on these tops. It's a very thin veneer of clear sealer and caution is advised when considering whether or not to use a solvent. in short, don't ruin a perfectly good top in an attempt to achieve a particular look.

I simply let mine bake in the sun for long periods and eventually, that powder gave up and went away after several washes. Fabuloso, Purple Power, ZEP Purple... (Why are they all purple? I have no idea.) ...seemed to do a pretty good job without affecting the sealer.

Maybe baking soda diluted in water/dishwashing soap in water applied with a cloth?I had the same problem years ago, forgot the solution

Embrace it. It doesn't get any more real than that. As TJ stated, seam sealer is involved. Seam sealer for VCP will adhere to itself, thus the liberal use of talc when folding and boxing for long term storage. The sole purpose of a top on a military vehicle is strictly utility. It's not about asthetics, it's not about pretty, and, as my wife says "it's not like playing dress up with Barbie!". It is what it is and it won't get any more Army than that.

LOL.. and see what i figured was a simple wipe with this or that... is in fact one of them things i should have search for "white power" as many have see the problem...

Talc is a mineral. powdered stone if you like. It will dissolve and go away over time.

lol csmith... it might have been you that i got the ideas for the tires... someone had posted about them and i thought i would give them a try... i love them... they feel connected to the road so much better... it just feels like a safer ride and being 10 ply i am sure they will be around for as long as i have the jeep. i still have the military tires, but will only use them for parades and such...

on the powder yes i have figured it will wear down in time and if not then try some of the things i have read in here.

thanks on the way it is turning out, yes i am happy so far, still looking for a Marine front bumper and need to do the Black paint for hood, fenders and gas tank. Also need to get the back seat finished as well as all of the radio stuff (radio, radio mount, antenna).
