V100 armored cars
over 10 years ago i came across a guy who was restoring a V100 like we used in the nam for convoy escort duty. i had my picture taken sitting in it. i had brought the manuals home with me and traded them to him for some M151 stuff and an antenna. he didn't have any pics of his V in country, so i have always kept that in the back of my mind. this morning, on the Nam page, a lot of MPs with V100 experience were posting stuff, and a pic of that very same V showed up. i am going to try and post both pics here, but i don't know if it will work.

this pic was taken at camp radcliff near an khe by sgt luis cambo. he and his brother were both nam vets. sgt cambo was evaced to japan after being wounded. the pic is dated 1970.

There is a guy in Texas that has one, he is competing against me for MV of the Year. https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/s ... re.212845/

Re: V100 armored cars
actually, i voted for ham's ambulance. it looks great, and the V wasn't painted the right color. Rick, if you ever get the chance to drive a V, take it. they have a 361 hemi with a holley 4 barrel, a five speed box, four wheel drive, PTO winch, bullet resistant tires and they are amphibious. most fun mil vehicle i ever drove, and we haven't even talked about the twin barreled machine gun in the turret.

Ron, You seem to forget I am at least a foot taller than you, not so sure I would fit in one all that well. Especially at 70 years old and not quite so flexible as I used to be.

Re: V100 armored cars
Thanks for the vote Ron, that V100 is sweet, probably worth more than my house.
