TJ ,

Yes, keep it going. Some interesting projects show up. Can you tell me, (and the Audience) your dealings with Gas Tank Renu, the one in Wallis, Texas. I’ve seen their website, but it does not have much info on how they coat the tank. Do they cut open the tank and blast it, or just clean and coat the tank?
Ready for Part Deux.

Yes, they did the tank in my 1942 International M3-4 which was a very simple tank, shaped like a shoebox. The process involves cutting open the tank and sandblasting the interior. When the tank is cleaned they weld it up, coat it in liquid PVC inside and out and bake it in an oven. If the tank has pinholes, the PVC simply bonds through to the other side of the tank as it solidifies.

The result is a PVC tank with a metal framework inside (your original tank). IMHO, that's a tank that will last at least OUR lifetime and probably longer.

The drawback is the coating will not look exactly the same as your original tank's finish and as we all know, the M151 tank is all too visible. So RENU may not be for everyone. I will state plainly, I was all too happy to have my International's tank completely hidden beneath the seat!

I recently called them and asked them for a bid to do the tank for my deuce. The cost was as much as a new tank so I felt that was out of my reach. Might just as well cut her open, blast it myself and refinish it with a good quality sealer.

If you are looking for a tank, I have a NOS emissions tank that needs a new home!

Yep... I'm having issues seeing the images as well. On a side note, I found another halftrack in Texas for sale. :-)

Love the turbo that is actually hooked up to the exhaust. Just about ten times bigger than possible to use and not plumbed to the carb or an oil supply so if the impeller turns at all it won't turn for long.
