I think the prototype tester is too busy playing with his other toys right now to get the testing done.

Acknowledging my responsibility in the matter. If another member wants to be the test subject, I will send some or all over if 12bravo blesses off on it.

Cheers,
TJ

I am kind of curious. What exactly is it we are testing? They are boots. Are we testing fit or durability? A durability test should be done by someone who is running off road on a fairly regular basis and even then the test could take years. And that person is going to have to be willing to tear down the joint after every water crossing to check to see if water got in, that is what testing is all about.

Four of the 8 boots have been sent to Rossco (who has some very nice toys, btw) in Aukland New Zealand.. After looking over my own stuff, I determined it would be foolish to send all of them when I really needed four so by way of compensation, I will pay the shipping, which I believe to be fair compensation.

Cheers,
TJ

Hi all,

I've been in touch with Polyboot as my A2 desperately needs new ball joint and swivel boots now. They have not gone in to production as they (Polyboot) were awaiting feedback on whether the items they had produced fitted correctly or not. Could m3a1 or Rossco please get in touch with them or post here as to whether the kit was fit for purpose or not, and then we can perhaps order some.

I got time and money in these boots because members were wanting a correct boot,I sold my A2 and passed the boots on to be installed for just a trail fit. That was all Atanas wanted months ago. He now will not return emails. I've sent 4-5 emails to him. When I sold my A2 I contacted him and informed him of the sale. I believe the man now has said to the h--l with it for he has more money in it than I and probably has wrote it off . He was wanting to sell on epay. He was all in but now I have my doubts. My $$ out the door. the ball was dropped. I don't think he will pick it up . I'll try contacting him once more then I'm out of the game. TJ mail me those boots back I'l go anther route with them.

Thanks for the response 12Bravo. I did get a response from the guy last night, so here's hoping. Don't really want to be driving my A2 with the rubbers in the state they're currently in as it risks degrading the joints themselves. Only about 1500 miles on them since restoration.

I really do not like hearing this! We have a company that was willing to give us a product and all we needed to do was some simple testing. This goes back at least 10 months and three, maybe four people and no report back to the company. I would not blame them for saying the hell with it. Our loss.

If the prototypes are not going to be tested then they should be returned. Otherwise it is considered free parts and that is probably why he is pissed.

I accepted these on someone else's urging.

I did not ask for them but agreed to curatorial responsibility and said there was chance that I would install them at some point.

Made NO promises as to anything else as I almost always have other fish to fry and I offered to send them to others if they said they needed some.

And even if I put them on my A2, I rarely drive it enough to provide any comprehensive feedback on the matter other than feedback regarding fit and that could be done by simply putting them on an uninstalled component.

I even sent a set to the other side of the planet (literally).

As for the remaining four, the offer to send them on to another in need still stands.

What I did NOT do, is sign up for a public flogging on the matter....directly, or obliquely.

So, if someone wants these four, speak up or leave me in peace.

Cheers,
TJ

Back off on TJ .I sent the boots to him on the sole purpose I knew they were in good hands and he would try to get a test fit, No trail was to be done. Atanas only wanted a test fitment of the new boot. As far as my concern TJ did exactly as he and I agreed upon. This is not in his park. I did not have a A2 nor one close to me for me to do. You guys want to do a flogging send it my way. This site is not about that. Seems everyone now wants to drag things into the ground on this site. They are the only new set in the whole U.S. for a M151. TJ did contact me and asked if he could send one set to another owner for a fit up, I told him to go ahead. I contacted several other 151 owners and no one wanted anything to do with the new boots, TJ accepted the offer and that is where it's at. TJ I'll send my mailing address to you and I'll get back in this game. Most of you know a I bought a Gama Goat and my efforts are into a NOS engine transplant right now. I'll contact Poly Boots though epay if I have to. I need to know how many of you are still interested in the boots . My Goat has my time now. Like TJ ,he has things to do also. Once again TJ has done his part of this as far as I'm concerned. You men want to point fingers ,point them at me. I'm not on the site much anymore but seems like a got on line at the right time.

This a great site for information and wisdom on M151 family. Please, let us continue with that. I agree about any flogging....leave that for Facebook

Let us not forget....leaders make sound and timely decisions based upon the information at that time.
