Spark Advance counter weights

Unread post by CaptB » October 15th, 2019, 9:16 am

Hi guys I have decided to strip down and rebuild my distributor. After removing the points I got a look at the counter weights and they look a bit of a mess, a lot of grease around them. Anyone have any tips or photos about overhauling them before I dive in

CaptB, go to the SEARCH box at the top RH of the page. Type in Distributor weights

There are several write-ups about this issue which may help.

ps.... before taking everything apart...make notes and sketches as to how everything goes back together and WHERE the parts fit.

It's simple to come apart, as guru said, make sure you mark the the springs, counterweights are the same but the springs are different.
