brakes
Hello, on my A2 I am changing front brake shoes and have a small problem. Halfway down the shoes on each side where I thought was a quarter turn lock. Not here. It looks like a spring holding the shoes on and looking at the back of the backing plate shows a flat steel part. Can anyone help me figure this out? No pin, some kind of spring. Thanks much

Re: brakes
Two parts are needed to attach/anchor the shoe, a tapered spring with a hook on one end and a metal tab with a hole in the center. The metal tab fits in the back of the backing plate, the spring goes through the shoe hook end first, I use a screwdriver in the center of the spring to push it in, then the hook of the spring goes through that hole in the end of the plate you put in the backing plate.

Example of tab - metal squares he mentioned can be seen in bottom right corner of this eBay auction (Not mine). https://www.ebay.com/itm/M151-Brake-Har ... 4329476087
I can tell these parts came from Oreilly's. Same white and green spring corps when I got mine.

Re: brakes
Rather than a dedicated tool, I found that a medium Phillips head driver, pushed straight in, can turn to unlock the spring from the retainer. Same thing for installing.
