Center post rods for side curtains & doors

Unread post by Sledge303 » March 6th, 2021, 4:08 pm

NSN 2540-01-073-7777, Part number 11598963, center rod assembly X 2

Please let me know if I am in the wrong area!
The above listed steel rods are needed to support the front edge of the side curtains and are also required if you want to latch your soft doors closed.
I have been searching and cannot find them available anywhere.
So, looking at (some rather poor) pictures I am thinking they would not be too difficult to fabricate from steel tubing.
Can anyone provide the dimensions of the original one piece (vertical) center rods?
Length, diameter and some details about the ends?
Anyone have tips on how to make a functional replacement?

They are getting scarce but still available, this is the best price I've seen lately.

Link deleted by admin
Thank you for the link and info.
However, I believe that "Deleted by admin" is a SCAM web site.
I have run across 2 others like it so far this year.
Looking up the domain the site has been on-line for less than a month.
The mix of picture and text styles plus the huge volume of products and wide variety are the clues that made me look.
Check out the sitemap "Deleted by admin" the other 2 SCAM sites are like this, lots of "bait" for every interest.
They are harvesting credit card info, probably to sell on the dark web.

Hambone and Sledge, I looked and I could not find any issues through my normal channels about that site but my gut feeling is with what Sledge is saying. Too quick, too dodgy and too much variety. And none of us have ever seen it before? I deleted the links out of an abundance of safety. This is not a hard part to fab up if absolutely need be.

I ran across another of those "too good to be true" while looking up these door center post rods.
Exact same pictures and verbage as the other 2 "harvester" sites where Hambone and I searched them up.
Just be careful buying on web sites that are new to you, something is actively going on.

NOW, the GOOD NEWS!
Thank you to the people who posted here to lend me a hand.
I have the parts on the way now.
Paul at TNJ Murray was really helpful and easy to work with.
Colorado has a forecast of up to 2 feet of snow dropping in this weekend!
Glad I have an SUV cover that fits the MUTT well, since I don't have sides yet!

If you bend the area just above the flat bar where it fits into the slot on the body, it puts a little tension on the rod and eliminates a source of rattling
