Unread post by 70mford151a2 » June 15th, 2021, 3:22 pm

Greetings , I am attempting t change out the tranny oil in my A2 I have researched it and know about the MT-1 and the GL-4 but my main question is what is the size of the drain bolt? 1 1/4 , 1 1/2 , 1 13/8 ? I don't have one big enough* and want to get the right one. Thanks, Dave

Guy is correct. The drain bolt hex-head is 1 inch and 1/8th.
Don't forget to keep your fingers off the reverse idler arm retaining bolt when re-filling the box. :D

Not mine but you could add this to your tool kit.

Yes I have one of that wrenches and completely forgot I had that, now to find it, and yes I know bout the idler arm bolt versus the drain bolt. love the cartoon fact is I rebuilt this Tranny 5 or 6 years ago with new seals and all but it still leaks around the shafts, not a lot but I would say after 5 years it has to be low.. so I'm gonna drain it and refill it to specs. Thanks for your help Dave

You might want to put a new copper gasket on it.
