StaBil marine stabilizer, That is what I use in all of my equipment. And you do not have to worry if you put a little too much in, it will not hurt anything.

Yes there is the fuel filter inside the tank as well as the inline filter. I just ordered some of the Stabil. Thanks for the info

I would do the following checks:
right after the engine dies, unscrew the drain plug at the bottom of the carburetor bowl. Not difficult to get to. Catch the gas coming out, should be a good amount (1st check) and check for any contamination (2nd check).
If no or very little fuel is coming out, you might have a stuck float valve.

Or sucking air in from a leak in the line from the tank to the fuel pump.

Ok I was messing around yesterday and decided to change my spark plug wires and clean and check the plugs before I got into changing out the coil. Two things once I checked the plugs and the wires were changed, I decided to see if ran any better or worse. The Jeep started right up and ran almost perfect. It had no stalling sputtering or cutting off issues. Maybe it had a bad spark plug wire. I did notice that the plugs were the 2243 Autolite and someone said those are the wrong heat range. I will try to find the correct plugs and run it and see what happens before changing the coil or ignition. I also added the Stabil to the fuel also. Thanks again for any advice on the plugs.

How did the plugs look when you took them out? Plugs will tell you volumes about how the engine is running and any issues one cylinder could be having. If the plugs have been in there for a while and they are not carboned up or fouled I would not worry about spending a small fortune for the correct plugs.

The plugs were not to bad but they were dirty and the gap was off on two of them. They do look old and had a lot of rust on the sides. If put them back in and after installing the new wires with them it ran perfectly no sputtering or engine cut off after running or driving a while.

great that you found the problem. Sorry that I was wrong thinking about a fuel issue.

It may have been some bad gas or a combination of things. The exhaust now doesn’t smell as bad as it did before. I am going to hang on to the new coil and ignition kit for now and shelve them and see how it goes.
