Onboard Charger
If you noticed my past post, I was inquiring about hooking up a charger through the slave receptacle, however, here is some helpful info. I purchased through Batterysuff.com a Schauer 24volt/5 Amp Master Automatic Battery Charger for my new 51R batteries. It works great (So far) and although I doubt, I will leave it powered on 24/7. I can now check my voltage through the slave receptacle with my Fluke meter and keep a record of how the battery is maintaining a charge. Hope this helps.

Re: Onboard Charger
You need to disconnect the charger once in a while and run the starter for a few seconds with the ignition off to take off the surface charge and then check the voltage of each battery from positive to negative of that individual battery. they should read the same, if not it is an indication that one battery is getting weak and that can cause problems with a 24 volt charging setup. When I say once in a while I am talking every other month or so. You do not need to do that check every week.

Re: Onboard Charger
Thanks for that bit of data! Interesting to learn from the wisdom of others that certain items cannot be found in the TM's/
Kind regards

Re: Onboard Charger
I did read the specifications of your charger. I am sure you will be ok with it. A state of the art charger would however have a function to counteract sulphation of the battery. Either by keeping the float with pulses or increasing the charging voltage for a short time every week or so. Yours does a simple float function and keeps the voltage at a certain level. Just as a hint for others following your otherwise good idea.
