Re: Rear turn signals.......Modifications
hi
posseble no problem
leave the military plug as is
make a T with a new wire from the direction switch to the new plug
wire no 461 to the L trailer plug ( left direction )
wire no 460 to the R trailer plug ( right direction)
wire no 22 to the 54 trailerplug (stoplight )
for the lights make a T from the taillight wire no 21 or at the receptacle wire no 21 or 24 or 490 to the new plug 58 L and 58R ( trailer lights )
from the ground to no 31 trailer (ground )
you dont need the 54 G
above is for a 7 polig trailer plug seperated lights directionlight and stoplight ( 24 volt)

He didn't mention if the civilian lights were 12 volt, If they are then you will need to go through relays and trigger the relays from the wires george mentioned. Will need to be 24 volt relays, the contacts for the 12 volt side do not matter about voltage.

I see they make an adapter plug for mil 24v to civ 12v but you'll spend a few hundred...

hi
it is only 24 volt or you can use four off them below you get 12 lights
1 lights
2 direction lights
1 stoplight
https://nl.aliexpress.com/item/32849996 ... hweb201603_
you can make it for a $ 25,00

Re: Rear turn signals.......Modifications
Hi Rick, hi George,
first of all: - my car's electic is actually modyfied to non-flashing stoplights and amber dirctional signals, but i'm considering going back to original as it seems to be legal in Germany for a historical us-car.
- I don't have a M416 trailer yet, but if i can get a good one for a good price, i will buy it.
Fabricating a translator-box, which converts the 24v signals from the NATO-jack to 12v signals to (2 different) civilian jacks, is exactly what i've done already.
This box is not permanently assembled with the car and only mounted when using the civilian trailer.
The 24 volts coming in from the NATO-jack are triggering the different 24v relays. An electronic DC/DC converter steps down 24v to 12v wich will then pass through the triggered relays to the 2 civilian jacks (7 poles & 13 poles),
wich are located in that box as well. Civilian trailer is jacked to the conversation box.
I don't want to have a civilian jack besides the NATO-jack permanently fixed to the car and that's the question and the problem:
Is it possible to stay with the NATO-jack as single and convert the turn signals into amber inside my conversation box to the civilian jacks?

My brain just went up in smoke! You have gone past where I was pointing already so I am backing out and let George take over on this one. He lives for this kind of a challenge.

hi
this is posseble see my answer from Mon Feb 17, 2020 11:40 am
the only PROBLEM is you have no 12v wire to power the + no 30 from your relais inside your box
this is ONLY posseble with the four 24v to 12 v converters at your box
they do not use 12 volt
at the trailer recepacle
use the original no 90 or contact D or L for ground 31
for the lights use the original no 21 contact E for 58 L and 58R
contact N/ K and M are not used at the receptacle at the MUTT
at the big vehicle`s they are use 489 clearance lamp ( top lights at the cab )
you can use them for with new wires
stoplight 54 wire 22 with a T from the direction switch
left turn L wire 461 with a T from the direction switch
right turn R wire 461 with a T from the direction switch
now it will work for both
