Suspension - a new feeling of driving a Mutt

Unread post by richard » April 16th, 2013, 6:36 pm

During the past weekends, I changed the rear and front shocks. It was time. One was losing oil, finally all four had less pressure than the new ones.

The shocks worked a lot on washers and rubbers. In the pictures you can see the difference between an old rubber and a new one.

Also all the bushings from the front axle where changed from used to NOS. Same picture here.

Finally the four ball joints were changed, too.

The result was a complete new feeling of driving a Mutt. :D

hi, richard---a few months ago, i also changed all my ball joints with NOS, and all 4 shocks and bushings as well. on the rear shocks, i also changed all 4 mounting bolts. it made an immense difference for me, as all of my shocks were worn out, and the right rear shock was completely stuck, no movement at all. much better, and worth the expense.

If you want more difference in ride, you can try the front and rear suspension bushing mod in our wiki. The info comes from muttmotorpool but i think that site is down.
