Yeah that buggy is incredible. Simply outrageous and super high quality. Nice work without a doubt.

Well boys, she's going to be trailready soon now.

Got my rock rings welded on; these will keep the rim from getting bent up and protect the outer 2pc wheel bolts.

I stenciled my hood... definately more difficult than it sounds, especially on a warped and dented hood. The results are less than impressive :( . When I do this again, I'll have a hood sized stencil done on a vinyl cutting machine with a much more intricate design.

Driveshafts are in, and they are fully protected from rock rash.

Shocks are painted and installed.

I finally got the clutch linkage sorted out, just needs cleanup and paint.

Adjustable drivers seat mount.

Bolted in the steering valve and gas pedal. The throttle linkage is going to work perfectly.

I put a 4wd lever from a different year M151 on it because it wasn't cast, and I bent it to clear the tubing and for easier reach.

Thanks for all the compliments and support guys. I have somewhat of a noob question, and a search through the manuals hasn't helped.

I am getting ready to start on my brake system, and I am rebuilding the master cylinder. I need to know what order and direction the spring, piston, cup, etc..... go in. I think they were installed incorrectly before. A diagram or exploded view of the master cylinder would be perfect. Thanks.

Are you sure you want to use the stock master cylinder? Single stage brakes in rock crawling seems like the vehicle equivalent of Russian Roulette! Plus I don't think the stock master cylinder will have the volume or pressure needed for the disk brakes.

Rick

I'm using the stock master cylinder mainly because it was free, and it already fit. I think it will have plenty of pressure, although it might not move enough volume. I'm using '78 Ford Thunderbird calipers in front, '80 GM Monte Carlo calipers in rear, and Performance Friction carbon metallic pads all around. If the stock m c doesn't work out, I'll just modify the linkage to run a dual m c setup from CNC or Wilwood.

After seeing your fabrication skills I would just go for the Wilwood to begin with. A total brake failure on the rocks would be real bad. Better to have the split system. I like the shifter linkage. PM me a phone number, I would like to talk to you about a couple of things I would like to do on my CJ-7 that I see on yours.

Here's some updates. The wiring/gauges aren't finished, and I still need to make aluminum fender skins, trans tunnel, and bed floor, but it's good enough for a shakedown run.

That thing is beautiful! Well done. You need to put a rifle mount in there for sh*t's and giggles and get yourself an airsoft M16 for display.

Well, she got beat on hard Sat. morning, and held up great, I didn't break any of the parts I thought I would. However, I did drive the front left under a ledge hard, and broke the stub shaft, so the rest of the day was 3 wheelin. Overall I'm very happy; it ran cool, the steering works great, brakes work great, and the suspension is awesome (esp. in the fast stuff). My only real complaint is it could use lower gearing which is no suprise. This led to some rather ungraceful (but very entertaining) high RPM clutch dumping and rock bashing, but the driveshaft protection worked great and saved my d-shafts about 50 times judging by the amount of rock rash. The plan for now is to just fix it and wheel as much as possible.

I was wheelin with my buddy Byron in his Bronco that he just cut the top off of. Huge thanks to him for hauling the Mutt for me.
