$10.50 for an E2 M14 stock :!: That will set you back $400 now.

And you can't even touch a semi auto M14, M60, or M2 for those prices. I don't even think you can now find a M60 or M2 parts kit for anywhere near those prices. And if they are fairly recent reimports, you will also have to source a barrel.

But the $75 stripped A1 upper was not that good of a deal at the time. For years, you couldn't hardly give away A1 and A2 uppers. But now, especially with retro guns being fashionable, A1 uppers, especially surplus ones with arcane markings, have really gone up in price.

Yea, but THOSE are NOT the semi auto versions there! Try finding them nowadays. I think an M60 is in the 20-25 grand range. I can't even imagine what a M2 would cost.

Wow, full autos with pricing back then... :D

Took awhile, but saw the date for that catalog as 1981.

That $3,550 Ma Deuce in 1981 was equivalent to $10,013.19 in 2020 dollars.

The average price of a new car in 1981 was $9,020.00 (I bought a like new "used" 1981 Buick Skylark back then...)

Haven't priced full auto M-16s lately, but last year I saw several advertised for $19-20k on average.

Yep, those were the good 'ole days when you could buy "full automatics"... 8)

PS: Dry-walling my house now (just me... ) and been away from the board because of that. Trying to get this darn house done so I can attend to my MUTT differential leaks...

Well, when you are done with yours................................ I really need to rip all mine down and reinsulate. Unfortunately I think it is going to get done from the outside with removal of the sheathing since the asbestos siding was all loose and leaking so the ply under it is shot.
