CMP M1911A1

Unread post by Cobra5 » August 20th, 2020, 11:25 am

I finally received my 1911 the other day after having to wait 17 mos for my number to come up. Its a 1945 last production run Remington-Rand that's in remarkable condition for its age other than finish wear and a few character marks. I did buy a pair of late style grips to replace the mismatched set it has on it. Anyone else on here take a chance and get one?

I put in for one two years ago and heard nothing more about it. I guess that answers my question as to whether I will get one. I had actually forgotten about it. Nice score.

Rick did you get your RGN number sent to you? Mine was 15364 and I got that in Mar 2019 with a note that there weren’t enough pistols to fill the orders. They stated that if more were released they would fill all the orders. I think because its a political hot potato they released more but didn’t make it public knowledge.

Nope, Never heard from them again after they acknowledged they received my paperwork. I have since bought a Garand from them so they know I still exist. I since bought an ATI and it cost 1/4 of what the one from CMP cost. Granted it is not an "original" 1911 but it still goes bang just like the original, is just as accurate as the original, and it uses all of the same parts as the original. It works for me.
