A well respected expert on such matters said this the other day:
A.22 caliber bullet will lodge in the lung, and we can probably get it, may be able to get it, and save the life. A 9mm bullet blows the lung out of the body.

A .45 may inflict some serious wounds, but I've never heard of it blowing a lung clear out of the body :!:

And you better get your hands an some of this devestating "lung blower" ammunition before it is banned :idea:

Since the likely use of a 9 or 45 is 10 to 30', and the 45 is bigger, I'm going for the larger round. Be it a regular or PD round.
