Unread post by richard » May 16th, 2021, 5:23 am

Is there any known source where I can find brake lines for the M416 A1? Shipping to Humble, TX, 77338.

Thanks a lot in advance,

Probably easiest to make your own. Buy the tubing, a double flare tool and the ends.

Rick, keep in mind, here in Europe everything is metric and inch isn't inch here when it comes to tubing. I have this problem with my M35. I am looking for the correct tool for the brake and air lines.

The tools range from super cheap to pretty high end. I like the hydraulic tools and direct press type tools. The cheaper tools tend to rotate as they form the flare and can split the tube unless you are careful. Eastwood and Summit both carry the tools I am thinking about. Once you have these tools you will never have to buy premade lines again. You have connections to the US for parts so all you need is bulk line and fittings. One thing to remember when flaring brake lines, or any line, is you always have to deburr the inside and outside of the cut end before starting the flare. That is the number one mistake people make.
This would be my first choice.

Second choice

Cheapie route, I have several of these. They do work but you have to lube the line with brake fluid before starting and everything has to be just right for a good flare.

And another tool you should have in your box for any kind of line work. Very handy.
