first steps towards my new camper

Did some welding today and fabricated a frame for the roof top tent. Looks like I don't need any modifications on the trailer itself. Still not finished, some more welding tomorrow, too cold to paint however.

Floyd, I see a pic, I nice big one! That is sweet! Is the trailer still useable as a pack mule with the tent in use?

Yes, the tent sits on a steel frame which at the end when finished will act as a lid to the trailer. It is actually a simple frame out of angle iron with some reinforcements for the tent. It should be water tight when finished so that I can store all the camping gear in the trailer. No more free days however, so I put the trailer back in storage and will finish when the days will be longer...

As a side note, is has been years since I bought steel. Unbelievable how much more expensive steel is these days.

I have not tested my 151 on how realiable it will be on a longer trip. But I plan to do some trips next summer, maybe into the Italian Alps or something like that.

As you can see the trailer has dual lighting. Actually I use it 95% of the time behind my civilian car and therefore I decided to have a 12V light system and the 24V composite lights. Two different lunettes, one for the jeep and another one for the ball hitch.

My trailer is my castle...
