You are going to find that making your own lines is going to be a major challenge. The bend right before the wheel cylinder is very sharp and so close to the nut on the end that no tool will fit. You will have to have some monumentally strong fingers to do them by hand. If you get them then you are THE MAN! If not you can buy them from Rapco.

Read though most of a 50 page thread on steel soldiers about using behr paint on military vehicles it seems to be an effective paint job for cheap especially if I plan to drive my Jeep in the woods I’d rather not pay a ton for a nice carc finish etc

Anyone else use this paint? I got some yesterday and I have a sprayer from harbor freight to use with it

Heartbroken.....

The moving company dropped my crated engine on its top and I’m pretty sure the block is cracked. I finished a complete rebuild of the engine with all new parts before it was moved.

How much should I state it’s worth to the moving company for a claim they dropped it off the forklift.... it was on a pallet bolted down and then a crate built around it wrapped in plastic with the radiator padded on both sides with road and cardboard.

I have a video of it running on a stand from just before I moved...

3,000.00 for an NOS motor and probably 1500-1800.00 for a rebuilt one. Add in 350-400 for the radiator and any damage to transmission would be more if that was attached.

Not likely that the block is cracked but depending on the height it fell from and just how it hit depends on damage. I would think a new head would cover most of it. Along with any external components that were broken. Do you have any pictures?

The ones they took were of the crated engine and since it was wrapped in plastic you can’t see anything I’ll upload them and take some tommorow when my stuff arrives

If it landed directly upside down then the valve train will be toast but I have seen enough things dropped from forklifts and they usually land on end unless way up in the air. Judging from the platform there that was not the case and the crate is not totally splintered which would also be the case if from high up. I am sure there will be some damage but I can be pretty sure the block will be sound and since it landed either on en or top the bottom end should be sound as long as it did not land directly on the crankshaft. I would still tell them they owe you a new engine though. Is this a military move? These guys probably used to work for G/L! Anybody that ever dealt with Government Liquidators will understand that joke.

Yeah, they skewered the M109A3 I selected to buy when they moved it with a forklift. It was not mine at the time and luckily, the damage was repairable. Do you know what it takes to unbend a tail light bracket on those trucks? The bracket is ridiculously thick....about 3/8".

Here's hoping for a happy ending for Husker.
