Looks fantastic! Just keep in mind that those rubber mats will accumulate moisture under them from condensation and then it will just lay there and find any little microscopic flaw in the paint to start rusting in. So be sure to take them out once in a while to let things dry out and check for any rust forming.

Francesco, you made an excelent job! I'm just saying WOW.

Only from my point of wiew- to be honest - this rubber carpet is step aside.
I had the same idea to protect new paint, but than I decided let it be free.
And it is perferct and nice. Kids, dogs, freight no problem. Scratches could be repaint
anytime.Just my experience.

I know the mats are not original but i still love them and at the moment i dont want scretch the paint. i ll take care of humidity under them and i ll monitor the situation.

I only need to install inside mirror (already ordered and waiting for delivery) and i need to fix a leak from steering gear (any suggestion? i hope i can avoid removing steering box from steering column) but the truck is completed.

Francesco,

2 questions.

First, apparently you have new seat covers. Vinyl or canvas? When the Barstow 151s came over, the rear set was missing (being radio jeeps) and for the front only the seat but not the back was in NOS. The importer made some home made vinyl back covers and that is what I have since.

Where did you get the seat covers (in case they are Vinyl)?

Second, what's written here?

Your jeep looks very good now, I personally would get rid of the tires, but they probably do their job well...

Hi Horst,

the seats are new but they are canvas not vynil (i hate vinyl i have a set of vynil cushinos built by Perini , very comfy but i do love canvas)

Regarding to the notes close to the suspension it is just a note for myself , it remind mw the wise of brake shoes adjustment for each wheel, nothing more.

Regarding tyres i cant use 7.00 x 16 since they was out of law when the M151 was imported and i dont want fight with public admin ... i ll loose for sure. they are 6,50 x 16 and the works good at the moment

Unbelievable that it is illegal to put the proper size tire on a vehicle!!!! I thought most European countries were so strict with their inspection laws that they would fail you if you DID NOT have the correct tire on the vehicle?

I would get rid of that solid vinyl/rubber floor mat. It will hold water under it for a very long time. Great Mutt btw. Cheers.

I put a heavy/thick door mat under the back seat to dampen the noise, I better check it as it has been in the rain, makes me wonder if gluing mat down would eliminate water getting under it, aw, no guarantee, of it, as well as demoting the value of the mutt.
But now I remember reading the transfer case makes noise too, so which is the big noise maker(differential transfer case)? But my memory is lacking.
