Getting some new OLD toys

Decided that with the direction of politics in the country these days it was time to change my shooting style. Just picked up some new toys. Don't have them in hand yet but these are the pics provided. The set of three is what he has for sale, I bought the top and bottom guns. The top is a .54 cal T/C Hawken and the bottom is a .45 T/C Hawken. I really wanted all three but he told me the .50 cal in the center had some rust in the bore so I passed on that one. The individual pics, the ones on the deck are the .45 and the ones on the chair are the .54.

I also picked up a Kentuckian .44 cap and ball single shot pistol but thanks to NJ laws I had to get a pistol purchase permit before I can pick that one up so pics will follow in a year or so when the permit comes in.

Have you tried to find 209 primers lately? They are as rare as large and small rifle and pistol primers. In other words, unless you want to pay close to a thousand dollars for a thousand primers on Gunbroker then they are unobtanium. I just happened to look at regular smokeless powder today and it is finally staring to come back on the market......................... AT DOUBLE THE PRICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BL-C2 is 400.00 for 8 lbs.!!! I paid 16.00 a lb. for it this time last year.

The wood stock has a nice finish on it, makes me wonder if it was that way in the 1700's, 1800's?I suppose tables/chairs were a finished wood product?This could be a stupid inquiry!If so, delete it.
