Barn find M416
Monday I picked up a winter project. One of my nephews sent me pictures of a trailer a friend got in an estate sale. This M416 was inside a horse trailer.
Was used as a welding trailer on a ranch. The rear panel was removed, so there is no data plate.
Unit markings are for a TEXAS National Guard unit. 49th Armored Division. 1st Battalion 112 Armored. Better know as First Tank. Head Company, trailer 7.
Vehicle ID painted inside of drawbar. 6P8839. I gently sanded the camo paint off both sides. Shazam, white ID was there. Since mods for the welder mount not able to get full ID on either side. The two together does appear 6P8839.
Was registered as a non-titled vehicle, farm trailer. Future trips to DMV. So, I am looking forward to comments on my project. You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Nice find, looks to be in good shape, are you going to repair rear panel or put a tailgate in it?

Re: Barn find M416
I don't think there are any re-pop panels for the 416, may check with Guy, I think he told me he could make a panel.
Re: Barn find M416
on my trailer for the M201 the rear was also missing. A friend took a piece of sheet metal, welded in a tube a the top and formed the beads by hand. You could not tell the difference from the rest of the trailer. So if someone knows how to work with sheet metal, it can be done for sure.

Re: Barn find M416
I found this missing piece for the trailer on Facebook.
I received the part today. Did a mockup. Going to work great with some trimming. Weld it in.
