You can use a new style timing light. If it is a dial back light that you can set the timing on the light be sure it is set to zero. And keep in mind you will need 12 volts to power the light, the mutt is 24 volts and will blow out the light. You can use a lawnmower battery or run jumper cables over from your car and hook the power wires from the timing light to them. Also you will need an old regular spark plug wire you can stick into the hole on the cap and in the plug to hook the timing light pickup on if you do not have the military adapter. The military plug wires are shielded and will not work.
