Re: How many Hams?
Family of Mutting Hams over here! Lou KA2PFL Meg N2GUU and Son Mike N2NFH. Still trying to get the grandchildren involved (if i can ever get their faces out from their phones).
Run an Icom 706MKIIG in the mutt for HF VHF and UHF. Use the RT524 when convoying, too heavy to keep in the mutt all the time. Meg and I just attained our worked all states award within days of each other on HF last month.

Re: How many Hams?
Moving this one up to see if we have some more radio activity.
This autumn, I took the jeep out to play HF radio. I only have the VHF radios mounted in there, so took my modern HF radio and set it on top of the RT-524 and sat in the back seat to operate. The antenna was a mag mount hamstick stuck on the hood. Usually I run wire antennas and next time I'm out in the field, will take a picture of the setup.

Re: How many Hams?
Hi Jeff,
This is Louie KA2PFL and Meg N2GUU, we met a long time ago at the Absecon Hamfest. There are some Hams that use their RT524 and other Mil radios for comms on 6 meter Ham frequencies. When the RT524 is not installed in the mutt, it is installed in our Ham shack connected to a 6 meter antenna on our tower. If you ever want to try comms, let us know. Absecon is a stones throw across the water from our QTH.
