Air filter oil type
Does it matter what type of oil goes into the air filter ? 2 stroke or 4 stroke even ? I have a 71 M151A2, thank you. Rob
Re: Air filter oil type
Any motor oil, even used motor oil (you have had an oil change lately, right?) will do the trick. It's just there to trap airborne contaminants. If you must buy new oil, buy the cheapest stuff you can get.

Re: Air filter oil type
I use SAE 10 in my air cleaner, which I believe is specified. However, I only use the SAE 10 because I have a FLU419 that has SAE 10 in the hydraulic system and I buy it in 5-gallon pails. Virtually anything will work.

Re: Air filter oil type
The LO from July of 1988 calls out 15/40 for the air cleaner. Older LO's call out 90 for the diffs, then it changed to 85/140, and then back to 80/90. As pointed out below, for the air filter, pick an oil, any oil!
