Re: V100 armored cars
each wednesday there are several vets who gather at the museum in chehalis. when i showed up today, the director wanted to show me something across the road, in the vehicle garage. i went over and saw that the sheriff's office had given the museum a V150 vehicle, almost complete, but the diesel won't start. hopefully we can get it going. it would be fun to drive it in our local parade on july 4th. i still have my license.
Re: V100 armored cars
Let me know if I can help. If so try to get a make and model of the engine.

Re: V100 armored cars
There was more than one diesel engine used in the V150, but one of the most common was the Cummins 6BTA which has a displacement of 5.9 liters.

Re: V100 armored cars
Well, The 6BT series are about the easiest diesels to work on. One wire for the starter to make it run and no electrics needed after that, unless it has a grid heater. Does the 150 use a pull cable for shut down?

Re: V100 armored cars
i don't know just yet. i took a few pics today, but don't know how to post them all without running afoul of the limits. i will get on to my email and send them to you in a few minutes. maybe you will be able to tell something from the pics. it will be a while before we can work on the V, because we are focusing on the M151 first. the engine we were given is pretty clean, with good compression. it's currently getting new gaskets and a paint job. i still don't know about the clutch and trans, that will have to wait until we pull the pack.

Ron, Make sure you have the Full editor and preview selected under this box and then on the lower left of the page it says "Attachments". Click on that and then "add files". You will be able to pick the files you want to add from there.
