You guys are schooling me up on some stuff, much apricated. I see that leaf spring design on the 6x6 is like a mini deuce set up. No wonder they jumped it up to a 3/4 ton. I bet it rode a deuce too. That would be real handy unit for someone who does things. First time really looking at the rear suspension, non-steerable and longer arms than the fronts. The walking beam spring and A-arm is an interesting combo, neat stuff when first seeing it. So, the stump jumper had coil springs and fully independent suspension at each tire and would be more of a 1/2 ton duty.

I had to go check the spare parts - I lucked out with two axle shafts ready to go and another one with the incorrect style u-joints. A couple prop shaft u-joints in the go box too. They set me up pretty good with spare parts kits they would take with out in the woods.

I'll have to take closer look at where my suspension sits as is, maybe I can do some saving on the u-joints by lowering (raising) the limit an inch.

If this is just for slow speed off road use the aftermarket joints would work. It is when you get up to road speed the difference in size will start to shake and that will not last long at speed.

That sounds like a good thing, this buggy tops out about 18 mph in high gear if I flog on it a little. Heres a pic of both v1 and v2 together (before I got them). They said there were a couple more of them built by others up here. I will probably run across another someday. I appreciate the pointers from you knowledgeable gents. I will do some updates when I get the locker operational.

I have that same Warn 8274 winch on my CJ. After 40 years I finally burned up the motor. And I was far from easy on it!! Sadly Warn has gone to China for manufacture now.
