I can do pretty much anything in construction (DIY house repairs) but have 0 mechanical ability. My mutt needs the engine , transmission and transfer case checked out. does anyone know of a mechanic in the Sebring. Florida area who works on them.

You might want to check with Mr.Recovery (one of the other moderators), as he works with a company that restores and works on old military vehicles. He is in Dunedin Florida. If not, he might know of someone who can help you

Fred. Don't say you can't do it until you try. These Mutts are the easiest cars on earth to repair. The manuals were made for kids to use and the wiring is all numbered. Replacement parts are somewhat inexpensive and this board is here to walk you through it all. You can always pay someone but for the price you're going to pay someone else you could pay for lots of parts. I'm just sayin'.
