Haven't seen the wiki, but I have one mounted on the rear seat for lighted recovery assitance. Nothing high tech, just an off the shelf Helo Light. My remote controlled magnetic base Go Light is on it way.

Re: Searchlight
Look how the rear suspension on that Mutt is just crying for that searchlight to be removed. Can you imagine what that does to the driveability of that Mutt? When I removed ROPS I felt like I was freed at last. The weight of the ROPS kit was pretty evenly distributed too. That searchlight is like a boat anchor. I wouldn't want one in my Mutt. I would like one on my back patio though.

Re: Searchlight
Ok, that sure is bigger than I anticipated. I'd put that on a trailer though and not pull it.

Re: Searchlight
Looks like some sorry SOB stole the guys spare tire off the back but at least he left the lock. I guess that light installed on an A-1 would remedy the roll over potential.
Re: Searchlight
that particular mutt was actually kinda ridiculous. If you look closely at the picture you'll also see it has a M4 pedestal with armor plate shield like a M113... also a radio and just about any other accessories known to man...lol It probably needs outriggers to keep it from tipping over when they move it.....

Re: Searchlight
Wow, Just played where's waldo with all the stuff on that M151. Well if you can not afford two vehicles to put the stuff on then just jam it onto one I think he should have went with the dual spares not just the one...... Some one should send him some pictures of side mounted gas cans and extra antenna brackets

Re: Searchlight
Woof! I wonder if the poor lil Mutt goes faster if he turns the light on when he's on the go.
Ok, I'm one of the new guys so here's dumb question #996. Will somebody explain why the mast (vertical support) on the left is different from the one of the right (other than the obvious fact that they support two different items.)
At a glance, I'd say the mast for the comms would be sufficient to support the fording exhaust....so why izzit different?
Cheers,
TJ

Re: Searchlight
the mast on the left is the one that comes with the fording kit. I would imagine the big holes were to allow air to pass over the hot exhaust pipe , but may just be because a different committee designed it from whoever designed the antenna brackets. The comm bracket was in three parts (base, extension, ant mount) to provide some flexibility in radio installations. The fording bracket was one piece since it only supported the tailpipe in most cases. There was an accessory mounting plate for the fording kit so a third antenna could be mounted on the fording bracket. (the first antenna being on the right rear, and second being on the right side by the door.)M2HALFTRACKBOY wrote:Woof!
