Unread post by BigDave » July 19th, 2014, 8:12 pm

Hello All

Looking for a set of rear control arm bushings here in the great white north for a 1974 m151a2.

Asking in hopes someone here in canada might have some.

They are the same for Harley-Davidson WLA, or other models. I got them from a local HD dealer. Then I was fine at all biker rallys.

Last time I checked the WLA is a rigid frame and you can't get anything for older HDs at the stealerships. The only frame bushings on them are the springer rocker bronze bushings.
What bushings are you referring to??

Sorry about the WLA. I got them from a dealer in Piqua OH and he stated something about WLA. I'm not a Harley guy and had no idea about the suspension geometry. But the rubber bushings were a perfect match for the rear shocks on my A1.

thanks for keeping me in check.

It's not bent, the floor isn't level.  No rick, that was an old shock I took off the 4X4 Vega that I keep for mock up and test fitting.

I remember when Chris was talking about the bushings from the Harley dealer. The post I found was dated 09, a while back.

Any civvy replacement?

I noted this on a Board ages ago. I haven't verified what the poster said but here it is. If it is correct, can you please LET ME KNOW so that others can benefit in future??? Thanks.

<<<A1 Rear Shocker bushing rubbers - Harley parts fit, the rubber bushing on a A1 is exactly the the same as Harley-Davidson part OEM 85210-42A. >>>
Ken, it worked. I had to go to two differend dealers though. The bushing is one piece instead of two, I pressed it in with a clamp and it fit the bolts perfectly. Total paid, $11.77, and about 60 miles onthe truckster. IMO well worth it.

I did get some "dreamy" looks from the parts guys, as that bushing fits '42 WLA. But I think I'll still get some cred and the bike night, after all my MUTT does have genuine H-D shock bushings.

Thank you
Chris

I also noticed that part number is listed in the 838 Wiki under M151A1 shocks.
