DUH!!! Guys, I would not post a picture of a typical M151 long axle shaft and ask what it if for!!!! Take a look at the Universal joint. it is the same type as on the front and rear drive shafts. It is not the same as on the M151 series rear axle....... It is an NOS part... not something someone has put the wrong U-joint on. Any ideas?Mr. Recovery wrote: ↑August 20th, 2020, 10:54 amThat is 1/2 of the wheel shaft or half shaft that go's from the diff to the wheel.

Re: Posting pictures in the site
The very early straight 151 used that type of joint on the wheel end of the rear axle shaft. I think that may be what Dan is talking about. How long is it? Is it about the length of a axle half shaft that would go out to the wheel?

I had forgot about the early set up with the 4 bolt hub assembly.

Re: Posting pictures in the site
So it looks like you have a very rare axle shaft for an early straight 151.

You might want to talk to Vin if you have that type of axle.
