Well a solid day of progress, power pack in, more electrical connections made, more progress on heater install, front drive shaft installed etc. I installed the front exhaust pipe and the flange is touching the inner frame rail, I may have to heat and bend it to where it belongs.

I guess poor pictures are better than none, I have my old camera set to "PC" image quality to save on upload speed and space. Exhaust installed and early corner mount antenna installed, more later today.

I took the day off and managed to get quite a bit done, power pack bolted in, fuel line attached to carburetor, front shackle mounts, front skid plate, driver heater diverter for W/S(note to self, install this before anything else)column mounted heater diverter, heater crossover hose, instrument cluster, hood, windshield and batteries. I am going to make a ethanol free fuel run tonight and will start and drive tonight or perhaps tomorrow after work, getting close !

Looks great. If those are 51R batteries, Buddy Ham has hold downs that will fit them properly.

Hello Guy, yes those are 51R batteries, I welded in a field expedient cross bar in the original hold down brackets, hope to see you at the Weare show this July.

Test drive tonight, ran up and down my road for about 20 minutes, on the list of things to do now, re adjust clutch, adjust voltage regulator, adjust brakes and check wheel bearing. Next off to the alignment shop.

Yes, 2 per wheel in test mode, too much of a bother to put on the other 3, good observation skills for sure.

That is a LOT of work down the drain if you crack a wheel or bend or break lug studs!!! 3 more lugs takes about 25 seconds! I have done that with three but never 2. Three at least spreads the load semi evenly. But that was on junk cars that I was moving around the yard.

Thanks for the comments, it was on my dirt road 10mph at most, I'll be sure to get all 20 on before the testing tonight to redeem myself.

A day off and more progress to report, made a seal for the tunnel cover, installed tunnel cover, adjusted brake band(NOT FUN), painted axe and shovel, painted top bows and wheel hubs and installed the rest of the lug nuts. I also applied the water transfer good driver decal on the W/S. I had a paint mask stencil made to duplicate a stencil on an original can I have.

So the second test drive did not go so well, it was hard to start, then when it did it did not want to idle, two days earlier it was working fine. So I ended up stalled out at the end of my road with a no start, it tried but I could smell gas. Back in the garage I pulled off the air cleaner elbow and it was full of gas, a lot of gas, from my extended cranking ?, not sure. So I decided I would make and install the fuel return line I should have in the first place, it was no fun to make with all those bends, luckily I had the original to copy. So I have the line installed but I am waiting for the flex line
from the carb to the return line to arrive. I took the carb off and gave it a good ultrasonic bath along with another carb I recently purchased, both back together now. I'm wondering if the fuel pressure may have overcome the needle/seat and flooded the engine, without the return line the fuel would have no place to go, but why didn't it do it on the initial 20 minute test drive ? I guess I'll find out soon enough.

I also blasted and primed the new heater components so I can color match to the body, it is a new kit in carc green, I have never had good luck with the finish painting over that color.
