Wheel bearings

Unread post by Sundawg3 » December 31st, 2023, 1:49 pm

Well I'm glad I listened to you y'all. I don't think the bearings have seen attention in some time. It looks like the wear rings either were removed or never installed.

The seals from the kit are different than what I removed. The service manual isn't too informative either. Can you experts confirm I'm reassembling correctly from the pictures?

Perfect!! Thanks again... I may have missed it but did you use the non-hardening gasket making Permatex #2 around the seals like the manual calls for?

I don't recall. But, as a very general rule, I will usually follow the manual. Keep in mind, many new seals come with a coating that acts as a sealing agent.
