Here's my A1

Mine has a very small angle difference between the windshield and the lower section that the door makes hard to see.

OK, I appreciate all of the pictures and ideas, here is what it seems to boil down to. The rails on the windshield were not welded on correctly! They are crooked from top to bottom. Anyway, I will deal with that later, I am going to try my original straight 151 windshield. At least it is getting closer to being the right color. I started on the engine tonight, pulled the flywheel and got my NOS stuff together.

It is hard to see but the ceramic clutch really tore up the flywheel, the pressure plate was no better.

It's funny, I always tell people that these vehicles were not perfectly straight and neat from the factory and yet when I am doing my own I want it perfect. :?: HTN has finally convinced me to " prime it, paint it and drive it" . That does not mean that this winter I will not go over the entire vehicle and try for perfection. After all I still have the other side to do.

I used to do custom paint jobs so I get anal about defects. Considering I probably will not be doing any custom paint on the mutt I guess I need to drop my standards a little. OK, A lot. When I restored my CJ-7 I painted it black! It was arrow straight. Then I proceeded to take it out four wheeling! Never dented it but in true Jeep fashion it rotted away. I blasted, painted and seam sealed every inch of that thing and it still rotted.

Getting there, got the transmission hooked to the transmission this morning. Let me tell you, that is not a fun job by yourself! Last night I found that my "NOS" flywheel was NFG! The holes had been drilled .012 off center and the bolts were binding. Had to use the old flywheel. Well the vendor that sold me the flywheel is just going to have to replace the flywheel and the disc since the old wheel is going to trash the new disc. I am at the point now that whatever it takes to get me running is what is going to happen. Well, breaks over, back to the garage to install motor.

I did a clutch job by myself this spring. Put the engine on the hoist, and the trans. on a creeper. Made it a lot easier to manuver around and get things lined up.

You probably would have gotten an ear full! That motor fought me the whole way. Never try to put a motor in while on a rotisserie! I'll explain later with pictures. Tell Dan I said hi. I'll give you a call in a little while.

Here are a couple pictures of the progress from the last couple of days. Never try to put an engine in while on a rotisserie unless you have an overhead hoist to handle the engine. What a pain in the butt!

It is almost all one color now.

I still have to work on the dash and left fender.

Note the height problem, I am against the rafter and still not high enough.

Image
Make it work!!!

Image
This is what you have to go through to get the rotisserie high enough to get the cherry picker under it.

It should be on its feet and moving under it's own power tomorrow.

I need wiring help, FAST!!!!
I am trying to hook up my turn signals and the wiring makes no sense, I have the wires from the main harness marked A, B, H, J, K, L. The wires from the signal switch are the normal light numbers 22, 406, 461, 460-22, 461-22, 461-461.
I did not write down the numbers when I pulled it apart for a broken controller.

Thanks Sherwan, I have checked every manual I have and all of the online ones. None that I have seen have the conversion. I think it is in the later -20 manual but for some reason I can't download it or even see it on the 838 manual page.
