M151 for $750.00 OBO

Unread post by Cobra5 » February 28th, 2008, 1:05 am

Hey guys,

I found this on the other board which lead me to joining a 4x4 board in order to e-mail the guy advertising this vehicle. He's located in Ada Oklahoma. Anyway I have no connection to this sale at all. Hell if I was closer I'd buy it myself even though it needs alot of work. Here's the link that will take you to the post on the 4x4 website. http://pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=661235

Tim: Good find. That thing is in better shape than some of the basket cases I have seen restored.

Hey M-11,

I saw that post and also joined just to comment on it. I'll be near Ada, Ok next week
fishing and visiting with an old friend. Hope the owner contacts me before I leave.
Bet I can find him when I'm in ton, it's a real small town. Wish me luck, I'll let you
know what I find out there.

I found it on the other site posted by Donald Roberts. All I did was dig a little further to prompt the guy for pictures. Hey Rainman I wish you luck on getting it. Hopefully it will still have some of those hard to find parts you need.

Hey M-11,
Have talked to the guy selling it, and it's easy pickins. The hard to find parts are what I hope to find for
sure. Looks like it has one early hood latch on those bubba fenders it has. A Holley sure would be sweet,
and not sure if those rims are civi or original mags? The steering wheel is broken off, so bet that's makes
it more exciting to drive. Half a mind to take one down in my suitcase and put in it, weather I get it or not,
it needs one real bad. Looks like the generator is laying in the back, it has newer style seats, and that top
is not quite a match for the M151. He told me the tag on the engine block says it was rebuilt at +.10 and
+.20 parts, taged so must be a gov rebuild at sometime. With good parts, I'll take what I can, replace
them with parts I have laying around, and let my buddy down there have it for his ranch. If not good parts
are there, I'll have to pass. Too far away from home, unless HK can bring it up to me later this year.
Does not appear to be a candidate for a restore, but lord knows I could find a motor and tranny to drop
into it. I'll see it Thursday or Friday there in Ada. What a hoot, I had this trip planned and I'm staying
10 1/2 miles from it. Thanks for posting it here or I would have never seen it. I hope my buddy wants
it even if I don't! I'll go do the recon and report back what I find! Only about 4 hours from HK.
