I am bringing this over from the 503, I have followed Mikes project and think his "Electro-Willys on a tv show can only help the MV Collector hobby.
XM38E - Electro-Willys could use your help!
Postby M38Mike » Tue May 31, 2011 10:13 am
Greetings to one and all! I have a great opportunity to have my
all-electric M38 Jeep, the Electro-Willys, be the star of a series of
Electric Vehicle TV shows. During these shows we will do a complete
rebuild of the electric components of the Jeep. Sponsors have donated
over $20,000 worth of parts to make this happen. And I need your help
to put my Jeep on EVTV.
This is part of an International contest for Electric Vehicles. I am
one of 10 finalists in this contest, out of 955 entries. The winner of
this contest is the one with the most votes from individuals who go to
the contest site and cast their vote. Here is the contest site.

What I am asking each of you to do is two things; go to the site and
cast your vote for me, and pass this email along to your friends and
family and ask them to vote for me also. The more folks who are willing
to vote for me, the better my chances of winning. The end of the
contest is August 31, 2011. You will only be able to cast one vote.
When you click on the banner that says "Vote for this Finalist" a
pop-up window will appear and ask for your name, address, email and
phone number. This is NOT a sales ad. This is how the sponsors are
checking to make sure that only one vote per person is cast in this
contest. Please fill in the blanks and hit "submit" at the bottom of
the window.
I appreciate every vote that you can give me, and every one that you
share this with. I will follow this up in September with a posting to let
you know if I won or lost. So please help me with this contest and cast
your vote for me. I sincerely appreciate your time in doing this.
Thanks to all,
Mike Picard

Re: Help A Fellow MV Owner with Contest
I want to help with this but they want too much personal information for my comfort. Name, address, phone number, E-mail. And on an unsecured connection at that. That is looking like a spam set-up.
